MAISON ASRAR’s Vanilla Aura is a fascinating study in "Contrast Management." By placing Lily of the Valley in the top notes, the perfumers created a botanical "coolness" that prevents the Chocolate and Caramel heart from becoming too heavy or syrupy. The use of Tonka and Sandalwood in the dry-down provides a starchy, woody texture that "mattes" the sweetness, giving the Vanilla a sophisticated, powdery finish.
